Feed the Kiln

Feed the Kiln reimagines Sicily’s ruined Fornace Penna as a productive landscape and public gathering place. Reclaiming the site’s former informal agricultural use, the project connects vineyards, orchards, and walking paths with small-scale food production, a café-bistro, and marketplace. A lightweight steel frame stabilizes the ruin while introducing a patchwork roof inspired by the patterns of cultivated fields. At the Kiln, architecture and landscape transform a ruin of industrial extraction into an infrastructure for cultivation, exchange, and community.
